I have been a top-performing sales professional with companies such as Pitney Bowes, IBM/Rolm, and have managed a large branch office for a national placement agency for 12 years. Most recently, I was trained by New York Life Insurance Company and I currently hold a broker’s license, specializing in Long Term Care Insurance.
After losing both of my parents, my only aunt and my 100-yr. old grandmother 10 years ago, I made a commitment to being involved in an industry that would provide resources and quality of life for the elderly. Representing a company with Silverado’s reputation and dedication is exactly what I was meant to do!
Personally, I have one amazing son (& daughter-in-law) and two grandchildren – granddaughter 10 & grandson 5 – who are local and with whom I enjoy many special moments. Traveling has always been a passion and I’ve been fortunate to have visited people and places all around the globe (at times on my bike!). I’ve always been very athletic - enjoying the challenge of physical activity at every opportunity! Even took a year off from corporate sales to become certified as a Personal Trainer and to develop my own business. Have run the LA Marathon and ridden many 100-mile bike rides.
Debra Mindlin, Psy.D., M.F.T.

Debra is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a certified Mediator, Life Coach, and Parenting Facilitator. She holds a Doctorate of Psychology from Ryokan College and a Master’s Degree from Pepperdine University in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Before joining Silverado, Debra was a Geriatric Care Manager with Jewish Family Service, preceded by over 12 years as a Children’s Social Worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. She has been a mental health practitioner for many years and enjoys helping people. Although her title is Home Care Consultant, Debra also conducts assessments exploring psychological, cognitive, behavioral, socio-cultural, and physical functioning for Silverado At Home clients and supports the Life Care Managers. Debra is not only a knowledgeable resource for Silverado, but she helps clients and family members understand memory loss and navigate the associated challenges.

Nichelle Tarnowski
Office Manager
Nichelle began her career at Silverado as a part-time Receptionist and Activities Assistant at our Calabasas community. She has been a shining example of Silverado’s core values and over the years has grown her responsibility within the organization. Her passion for serving others stems from her personal experience of being the primary support for her fraternal twin, who is affected by a learning disability and from caring for her mother, who unfortunately is no longer with us.

Carol Vega-Aguilar
Life Care Manager
Carol Vega-Aguilar, a native El Salvadorian, came to America when she was 16 years old. In 1994, she earned a degree in nursing from Santa Ana School of Nursing with an emphasis in Geriatrics. While she has worked in various hospital settings including: acute care, rehabilitation centers, and emergency rooms, the majority of her experience has been in the Home Health Care industry as a Director of Marketing and Traveling Nurse. Carol joined Silverado At Home because she believes we excel in proving quality of life for our clients and their families. She takes pride in being a Life Care Manager and assuring that her client’s personal, psychosocial, and medical needs are met.
Carol is the proud parent of two adult sons; Anthony is on the Management Team for Verizon and Andrew is an Airborne/Missile Defense soldier in the US army. In her free time, Carol enjoys spending time with family and friends, but especially with her sons.
