Laura Avanesyan, RN, PHN, MSN, MHA

Administrator

Laura Avanesyan is the Administrator and Director of Patient Care Services for Silverado Hospice.

Laura has more than 20 years of experience as a nursing professional. She has diversified experience in multiple settings including: critical care nursing, surgery, oncology, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health and Hospice. She has held numerous positions such as Critical Care nurse, specialized positions such as Procedure Nurse for oncology, Supervisor and Administrator.

Over the years, Laura has continued her education and is a Certified ELNEC instructor and Certified Interpreter in two other languages. She has her degree in Public Health Nursing and Dual Masters in Nursing and Health Administration.

Dr. Arbi Ghazarian

Medical Director

Dr. Arbi Ghazarian is the Medical Director for Silverado Hospice.Doctor Ghazarian received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College. He is board certified in Family Practice in both Glendale and Montrose. He is on staff at Glendale Adventist Medical Center and Verdugo Hills Hospital. Currently Dr. Ghazarian serves as the Chairman for the Information Management and Utilization Review committee at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Dr. “G” enjoys teaching and is very involved in the hospital’s residency program. Additionally, he is Medical Director of Ultimate Home Health and Glendale Community Free Clinic. Dr. Ghazarian is very dedicated to the needs of the terminally ill and committed to guiding the Silverado team to excellence in quality care.

Bereavement Coordinator and Spiritual Counselor

Vicki Sechler is the Bereavement Coordinator and Spiritual Counselor for Silverado Hospice - Los Angeles.

Lisa Gonzales

Director of Patient Care Services

Lisa Gonzales is the Director of Patient Care Services for Silverado Hospice.
Lisa has over 15 years experience in nursing in a variety of settings to include Emergency Room, Urgent Care, Home Health and Hospice. She served in the United States Army Reserve Nurse Corp as a Nurse Officer. Lisa is also a contributing writer to Working Nurse Magazine. Currently Lisa holds a Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration and is working on her Masters Degree in Nursing.

Social Worker

Timothy Heyman is the Social Worker for Silverado Hospice - Los Angeles.

Malena Hinze

Volunteer Coordinator

Malena Hinze is the Volunteer Coordinator for Silverado Hospice. Malena Hinze is a wife and mother to two beautiful children and two wonderful dogs. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology and a long history of working in the social services field. She loves her job and says “everyday my volunteers amaze me.” In her free time she loves to go on nature hikes with her family and read books when she gets a moment to herself.
