Memory Care With a Homelike Touch

Silverado Senior Living opens in Scottsdale, Arizona. The 40-bed senior community specializes in care for those with memory impairing diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The vision of the Silverado fonders was to create an environment where they would want their own parents to live.
"We have a seven-to-one caregiver ratio... It takes more time with dementia to get them dressed, to get them daily care. But it's important to preserve their dignity and not to devalue them as a person, to recognize the human spirit in all that we do," explained the Scottsdale community administrator.
