Senior scientist and distinguished educator William H. Thies, PhD, became Vice President of Medical and Scientific Relations for the Alzheimer’s Association in August 1998 and Chief Medical and Scientific Officer in December 2008. As Chief Medical and Scientific Officer Thies leads the Alzheimer’s Association’s medical and scientific relations department and its multifaceted Research Program, the goal of which is to stimulate research toward effective therapies, prevention methods and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
