Children and Pets in Assisted Living
Residential pets, intergenerational activities, sensory experiences and regular outings are all part of why Silverado is home. In addition to our community pets, individuals are encouraged to bring their own pet to live with them in their new home. A friendly wag of the tail, or soft purr on the lap is always a welcome addition!
Team members are allowed to bring their children to work with them (there is even a child’s playground onsite) so that laughter as the kids and elders interact is a common sound. This has the added benefit of employee satisfaction and retention … especially important to consider when dealing with dementia, as consistency of care is essential.
A Special Focus on the Family at Silverado Senior Living
Family support is crucial in the world of dementia care. It is a difficult disease; we are here to assist you through the process. A full-time Master’s prepared Social Worker is onsite to help you deal with a variety of issues, from family discussions to life planning for the future. Monthly Family Support meetings are available to the public, including onsite respite at no charge, and Family Night outings offer the caregivers a much-needed night of their own.
Food is a very important part of our resident daily life. Weight loss is always a concern with the elderly, one we take very seriously. Our culinary department is headed by a Master Chef who brings elegance and taste to every meal. Families are invited to join loved ones at any meal, free of charge. We even have a private dining room for special occasions! |
